Folosesc spirt pt ami.sterge telefonul zilnic de fiecare data cand am mâinile murdare. Am depresie cronica , luam 8 pastile pe.zi, divort parinti, bulling, certuri..nu intrasem la facultatea dorita.. Si am plans foarte mult ascultând muzica preferata pana m am imbolnavit.

I recently went to the doctor to get recommended therapy for my compulsive hand washing and the doctor told me that the mind is a very powerful place and only you control your thoughts not the other way around. Ever since i had contracted covid back in 2022 and recovered from it i have been scared of getting it again because i don't want anything bad to happen to me. Everytime i use the restroom i wash my hands again and again because I feel like you know there's no way that just one wash can truly be enough to get rid of all the germs off my hands. The doctor told me I need to be the one to change and I have to talk back to the thoughts whenever i get them and if i do get them to just find a way to distract yourself from it and just tell yourself you're going to be fine. What's life worth living if there weren't any risks of getting sick? We all can get sick any moment and there could be germs anywhere and anytime, but yet we all just have to keep pushing through and live the best life we can ever live because we have one life. I really hope I can get through the anxiety and paranoid thoughts Update 4/29/24: It's been awhile, I got the help that I truly needed. I have been on meds for a month going on 2 soon. Honestly I have never felt this great in all honesty. I have really started to change for the better. I haven't washed my hands a lot anymore, all the cuts have gone away from using hot water (when washing my hands I used hot or warm water) and I have since used cold water only. Sometimes I get occasional dry skin after shower or washing dishes only but I always make sure to moisturize. I have also been doing more self care, started to have better habits lately as well. This journey has really been awesome and I really hope to continue living this path and to continue to improve my mental and physical health too. Hope everyone has a great day 😊🙏🏻

I have been jumping to this video, your channel and other videos daily after my Mom showed me this video and the 'Don't follow that thought' video. Tourettes and OCD has proven to be a big problem with me. My memory has faded about this over time but apparently 2020 or so, around Christmas, I kept on saying 'I don't want to be here.' As the OCD had spiked that much. It did calm down of course, as it always does but it has gotten to the point where now I'm trying to avoid going to use the toilet. so step by step it's, I go to the loo takes about a minute maybe two, so now lets move to the hand washing, I turn on the tap and I put soap on my hands and all the way up to my elbows on my arms, I dig my nails into the soap and scrape them over the tops of my nails and I wash off the soap and push the soap out from under my nails, I wash my hands again, do my nails again, and then I do that one more time, I set the soap down, dig my nails in and scrape the tops again on the set down soap and I rinse them, I wash the rim on the bottom of my shirt, I grab my soap, wash my hands and dig my nails, I have been trying to cut down, at the moment its about two or three times, then I drop water onto my feet. Thanks to your videos I've been able to reduce washing my hands again by repeating the 'I saw it, I heard it." Line. I do the tops of my feet, maybe the lower parts of my legs depending if there up or not. then I do the bottoms of them. I continue with my hand washing about one to three times again, I do my arms again in that process so likely three. I scrape the soap off my arms with my hands and continue to wash with the nail digging again. (the reason in my OCD mind is that soap does not go under the nails, therefore it must not be clean and given it doesn't really feel like it goes over your nails I have to do the tops as well.) Again thanks to the shower video with 'One is all you need.' I've been able to cut down on how much I wash over the tap handle to just once, I finish washing my hands about once or twice after washing the tap and I set the soap down, Dig my nails in, do the tops of my nails, push the soap out, wash the soap off, and turn off the tap. It is not the most ideal I am aware, but progress is being made. I have set out some goals and what is very annoying about my OCD at least is that it adds logic into its thoughts. Due to holding off for so long I end up missing some times when I go the loo and it lands on my feet. Hence why I do my feet and it also will tell me that theirs bacteria and germs from where I'm standing due to previous misses hence why I do the underside of my feet. so the feet I don't think I will be able to calm down unless I can avoid missing as much in which case I'll need to calm down these first (my goals.) Goal 1: Stop doing my arms. Goal 2: Stop doing the rim of my shirt. And Goal 3: Turn the tap off normally. Progress on these goals are already being done. I'm planning to get kitchen roll inside my room so I can try my hands after turning off the tap and the bonus being I can scrape away the bacteria and germs that (while there aren't) are on the tap. (Please don't tell me if this isn't the case as I have found with OCD it is sometimes better to lie to it or be in the unknown so you can bend it into your way.) For my arms I have to see what I can do but perhaps saying due to not touching anywhere that could set it off I'm fine? then same goes with my shirt. I may have to still do it occasionally as I have to hold it up when going. (I can not tuck it under my trousers otherwise when I do go to the loo I'd have to get in the shower.) It will occasionally get caught by my trousers in which case I just need to do that part and move on. This is definitely an early work in progress but these videos have proven to be vital to me standing up to my tourettes and OCD of which I originally took in as a second mind or person inside me. (Yes I do sometimes end up having conversations with it.) However the four year old bully analogy has been a much better comparison and much better into helping my recover. And for the OCD and tourette readers know that things will get better, OCD will calm down after a spike, if you are new to Jim's channel then I highly suggest going through more of his videos, these are my suggested ones, This one, How to take a shower, How to turn off a stove, Don't follow that thought, How ERP works, Your Senses vs OCD, and for the very long one, Facebook Live with James Callner. (That one is on RUclips btw.) There are many others but these are the main ones I suggest and the ones that have helped me the most. The, How to calm anxiety by breathing, one has also been a help but not as big as those ones. You can do it and you will get on top of OCD, maybe not fully but once you do you will take control. Know that you are not alone in this fight and you are loved. Good night. ❤❤❤❤❤

I wash mine no less than 3 minutes but most often atleast 5 minutes. I have people look at me in public even had a lady in a theme park say "you must be a nurse!" To which I commented close...massage therapist lol except that was just to awkwardly place my OCD on my job as a massage therapist vs admitting that I feel crazy and can't wash my hands a normal amount of time. 🤦‍♀️ I feel most frustrated that I'm still fighting with the thoughts in my head even once I stop and then it hits me how much time I waste everyday washing my hands for 5 or so minutes at a time.

I appreciate a lot the video and I think this is truly helpful for people that fear germs, but what kills me inside is that I never find any content regarding people like me that are just afraid to the bottom of oneself of natural biomolecules of the body, body fluids, etc. I mean, I have 0 fear of germs, actually Microbiology was my favorite subject in Uni by far, I would understand Bacteria and Viruses like no one else in my class and not feel disgusted by Petri dish colonies or anything. I just am really disgusted by my body and fat/proteins and fluids, so the problem is washing everything. I think the same concept of exposure applies, but I can't find relief in finding out facts that my skin protects me, because I'm not worried to get sick at all, actually I never ever get sick anyways and never feared it, I'm worried with the contents on the skin itself, it is more like I want to protect the skin rather than myself. No matter how much I search it seems it is really not that a common of a thing, even though I see some people mentioning fear of "body fluids" and "dirt" (which is very unspecific it seems to me). Anyways, it seems to me it is a much worse predicament, but I realized that expose might just let you "live with it", but there is no escaping using anything rational, because by studying I just realized more and more that the logic behind my thinking was correct (I reckon one might say OCD is just good with creating narratives or whatever, but in some aspects of my case I find that it would be like negating scientific facts and just having a convenient belief you are not getting into contact with certain contents), I just think that my compulsions are too extreme or that maybe there is no need to fear it. But it makes me very confused because even though people ignore it or don't have strong compulsions like me, I always notice they all worry about this and dislike a lot having contact with things like that. I think I just have to come in terms with this and live with it or die, which might be good enough solution, but for me it becomes a very deep and basically philosophical problem I have to figure out together or first, like what I value and how other things in life are more important and making that be a significant part of my life, detaching from the "self" or something, my "thoughts" from my "character" and value others more than myself. Which becomes like a "spiritual" journey of sorts, but is extremely hard to pull off and figure out. Sometimes I fear I'm just doubling down on OCD by not caring about being happy myself and enjoying life, and just worried about trying to find salvation in worrying about others more. But again, I see a lot of other disorders get better after having children for instance, even though I have seen people getting really bad OCD after they had children, even though they do sacrifices only for the sake of their child, but sufficient ones to be a good enough parent. I will try but I'm not too sure if I can make it anyway...
